Renda Wiener, MD, MPH is an Associate Professor of Medicine in Pulmonary and Critical Care at Boston University School of Medicine and Acting Associate Director of the Center for Healthcare Organization & Implementation Research at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial VA Hospital. A pulmonologist and health services researcher with funding from the National Cancer Institute, VA HSR&D, VA QUERI, Department of Defense, and PCORI, Dr. Wiener’s work focuses on design and implementation of lung cancer screening programs and improving patient-centered care and outcomes for individuals undergoing evaluation of a potentially malignant pulmonary nodule. She has chaired, co-chaired, or participated in several policy statements promoting implementation of high-quality lung cancer screening for the American Thoracic Society and served as a Co-Author on the CHEST Lung Cancer guidelines, including the Lung Cancer Screening and Pulmonary Nodule Evaluation chapters. She co-chairs the task force to implement lung cancer screening in VISN1 (VA New England) and serves on the multidisciplinary steering committee of Boston Medical Center’s lung cancer screening program.
